Heritage swine are true genetic breeds that have a long history in the U.S. Once, most small farms in the U.S. had heritage hogs until big meat producers replaced the hogs with new specifically breed swine that could survive uncomfortable conditions.
 
The Wattle is a large heritage hog with fleshy wattles on either side of the neck. We mix our pigs with Big Black, a very big heritage hog. Both breeds are best known for their hardiness, foraging activity, and rapid growth weight. They have a mild temperament and their excellent foraging makes them a great choice for pasture meat. They produce a lean meat that has been described as flavorful and tender. The mature adults can weigh around 500-800 lbs! The sows are excellent mothers, with litters from 8 to 15!

If you don't have a place to raise your pig we can raise it for you! Just purchase the piglet for $80 and pay $50 a month until butcher. If you are interested in 1/2 or wholes, or want to raise your own piglet, just call us!
